By means of this investigation effects on the soil will be elevated, which are a result of the footstep and the excrements of livestock. Furthermore, changes in the botanical composition and the yield of the grassland could be an indicator for the system soil - plant.

Target is the examination, whether there would be a difference in the soil and the botanical composition, if the area was used as pasture or as mowing pasture. This is all seen under the aspects of permanent grassland in the Eastern Alps.

Aims:

• Which influence has grazing on soil compaction and soil contents
• Which long-term changes are estimated in the botanical composition of the pasture, mowing pasture or cutting system
• What is the whole yield capacity in pasture, mowing pasture and cutting system
